Day 188 – Late autumn

In the past few weeks I have stopped posting constantly my everyday photos, but I have managed to take a photo everyday to continue the project but without posting them. There are lot of reasons why I couldn’t do that mostly involving work and some health issues. I won’t go into details, but I hope that now the things will go back the way they were before since I have uploaded in batches the missing pieces. I feel that I have somehow cheated the project, but sometimes in life things show up and you have to prioritise on the fly and this is what I did. Also, my blog has some authentication problems which I need to fix, but I will update the flickr stream until it gets fixed. The next period will be busy too, but I will make more time for photography, and specially editing. Actually I am starting a PS course next week, and I hope won’t take long until my photos will be better processed.
Going back to the today’s story, I tried to make it very close to how I see the atmosphere right now: late autumn, foggy, and deserted.

See you tomorrow!

Day 133 – Scrambled

133 days and counting. It got in my system. I’m still sad that the project isn’t going exactly in the direction I wanted it to be, but it’s not far. I have some personal things that I have to take car of and they need a lot of time to be taken care of so I had to prioritise.
Today, when I was preparing for getting home this red light hit my eyes. It was the sun setting and it was reflected from the other building. The light was so warm that I had to take the shot. It’s just another way to look at the sunset.
Nite nite!

Day 43 – We all age sometime

Time passes by so fast around us that you don’t realise when you got so old. Maybe I am a little nostalgic since in two weeks I will be 27 and boy… this is a long time. Speaking of time, today I wanted to do more street photography and of course I couldn’t find any subject that pleased me. So I decided to sit on a bench near a fountain downtown and observed the people passing by. I spend almost an hour or so having my camera on my lap and pressed the shutter from time to time when I considered to do so. Almost every frame that I took wasn’t good enough until an old man stopped near the fountain. He looked tired and sad and just by looking on his face expression you could see his story. And this was the moment when I shot the 43.

See you tomorrow!

Day 37 – The man and the dog

Again, street photography. Or neighbourhood photography or just snapshots. It’s getting harder and harder to find good subjects, and I intend that I will control more the environment. This means more in house work or studio work (which I don’t have). These two are very different approaches. In the first mostly you have to walk and be alert all the time in order to catch your subject and in the second one you control the photograph by knowing exactly what you want to achieve from the beginning, you just have to concentrate for the details, composition, background, etc.

See you!

Day 35 – I’ve lost my lightsaber

This little Darth Vader kinder surprise is very cute, but he lost his lightsaber. Please help him find it or he won’t be able to defend the dark forces in the next Star Wars movie that will be out in the next few years.

Day 30 – Whatcha doin?

Today I had a walk near the centre of Bucharest, on some back alleys. I found some interesting paintings on the walls and I started to take some pictures. While I was doing that, something touched my feet. When I looked closer, a curious cat was watching me. Very curious, stared at me a little while. I turned and took a snapshot and after that, the cat was long gone under a car.

Day 26 – Deserted

Yesterday was a long day filled with adventures. Even if the rain caught when we were riding our bikes, we managed to find a place to hide and we were able to continue our journey after the rains stopped. Today, unfortunately the weather forecast wasn’t so good and we decided that this is a no go for the bikes. Instead, we took the car and traveled to see the landscapes nearby. It’s safer with the car when the weather is not that predictable. We have arrived at Sirnea, a village near the mountains where many houses are very old, and very specific for that area. After we stopped, we continued our journey by foot. The surroundings were not populated and in all the gardens you could find something like wooden huts, used as animal shelters. Now the nicest part is that they are very nice positioned giving the land a very specific look and it looks like 100 years ago. For me this is better than any big city. You can’t beat that with the crowded cities. Unfortunately, it’s very unlikely that they will be repaired by the people or if others will be build just like they were back in the days. They have become a piece of history that degrades as the day goes by.

See you!
